Details
We're not sure what inspired Huss & Dalton to call this model "The Pilgrim" but the specs are clearly based on Clarence White and Tony Rice dreadnought models of the past. Source of those features was the highly modified '30s D-28 that Clarence White owned, and which was made even more famous by years of use by the legendary flatpicker Tony Rice. These features include a larger diameter soundhole and 21-fret bound fretboard with no inlays ( and which overhangs the soundhole). So much for the bluegrass guitar trivia details, what really matters is how this sounds, and it has the volume, clarity, and headroom that flat pickers of any generation crave. Whether you attribute its power to the Adirondack top or to Huss & Dalton's magic, it delivers, and if you're in the hunt for a flatpacking powerhouse give it a try.
