Details
The Gibson Southern Jumbo (originally called the Southerner Jumbo) is essentially the slightly more “deluxe” sibling to the J-45. The upgrades are mostly in the looks. The SJ features split parallelogram inlays in the fingerboard, more ornate body binding and rosette, added fingerboard binding, and a torch inlay on the headstock. Otherwise, it shares the same wood recipe and specs as the J-45, such as a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a 24.75" scale length. This one is a standard model from 2001 that’s been played in nicely over the years. Structurally, it’s in great shape and feels solid and comfortable to play. There are a few dings on the top and some light wear throughout, but nothing that affects playability. It’s a great-sounding example of a modern Gibson SJ, with that familiar warmth and punch these are known for. Includes the original hardshell case.
