Details
Yep, Adirondack spruce is often this light-colored, but most builders who use it add a little toner to the finish to "age" it prematurely, and then with time UV darkens both the spruce and the lacquer. And this beautiful spruce top is free of dark streaks and grain lines, too. Whatever you think of the color of the top, it will mellow with time and the sinker mahogany on this Custom Shop Martin has plenty of dramatic grain and coloring. But whatever one's opinion of the woods' appearance, the sound is what counts and this D-18 delivers all you could want in a mahogany Dreadnought. It has great balance and clarity, plus more volume than you'll probably ever need, and when you need to plug in the LR Baggs Anthem pickup does an excellent job.
Condition is virtually as-new, with original Martin case.
