Thanks to the tried-and-true Spruce/Mahogany tone wood pairing, this guitar delivers a robust, punchy tone with an emphasis on a clear fundamental. Unlike most Dreadnoughts, the D-16E has the same body depth as a 000. The shallow depth tightens up the bass frequencies, resulting in a guitar with more balance and clarity than a full-depth dreadnought, making it the perfect choice for players looking to play amplified on stage. It’s also a bit more comfortable to play sitting down.
Cosmetically, this guitar is in very good condition. The top, back and sides are relatively blemish free, but there is a small cluster of scratches on the back of the headstock located near the low E string tuning gear. The neck is nice and straight and the frets are in perfect condition with only a small amount of use.
