The Renaissance thin-line steel string acoustic electric guitar is Rick Turner’s definitive solution to the age-old problem of amplifying acoustic guitars for live stage and recording applications. As any gigging musician will tell you, it’s incredibly difficult to get a pure acoustic sound in a dynamic live setting. While most full depth guitars sound beautiful and resonant when played acoustically, the very same resonance proves fatal onstage, as uncontrollable feedback turns your guitar’s tone into pure mud. Rick’s answer to the process was to design a guitar from the outset with the explicit purpose of sounding good through a PA or amplifier. The thinner depth of the instrument keeps problematic frequencies in check, while the cedar center block prevents feedback. The piezo with active 18-volt pre-amp system provides complete control over the entire tonal spectrum and helps deliver an ultra-high-fidelity, pure acoustic sound through any amp. But just because this guitar is meant for the stage doesn’t mean it isn’t an absolute joy to play acoustically. The Port Orford Cedar top combined with Mahogany back and sides give the guitar a sweet, jangly acoustic tone with a surprising amount of resonance. Clocking in at about 5lbs, this guitar is incredibly lightweight, making it a perfect choice for players looking for an extremely ergonomic and easy playing experience!
