Were it not for the model code you'd be forgiven for missing what makes this D-18 different from the other 99% of the examples of this popular Dreadnought you come across. But once you play it, you'd probably notice and your left hand would be sending messages like "hmmm, lower string tension!" and "those chords that are usually a bit of stretch are just easier, for some reason." Fretting hands don't lie, and this short scale D-18 can be a real blessing. Think of how much easier a 000-18 (which also has the 24.9" scale) is to play, but in this case you don't have to give up that Dreadnought tone to get it.
Condition is excellent and it's original throughout, plus Martin gave this version some nice extras, like nickel Waverly tuners with oval buttons.
